ROLE DESCRIPTION
In this position, you will be working closely with the various Finance Teams, Head of Departments and Operations Teams within HQ and across the region to provide sound financial insight of the underlying performance of the businesses by ensuring strong control and accuracy in the reporting of financial results.
The position will require the candidate to quickly develop an understanding of each business operations, as well as the economic and market drivers that may impact the businesses performance against forecast. You will anticipate changes in forecasts and identify practical and innovative improvements to support business intelligence and enable stronger and effective decision making.
This position will suit a self-motivated individual who possesses strong technical and analytical skills with strong interpersonal and influential skills working in a diverse team environment. A positive and enthusiastic approach is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, cross businesses and in a multi-cultural environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Controlling:
Operational controlling over the assigned portfolio within the Region
Supervision of the assigned portfolio’s monthly closing and timely submission to HQ
Business performance monitoring: actuals are thoroughly reviewed through the analytical accounting lens with explanation on deviations versus budget/forecast
Analyse financial risks and propose solutions where a problem is identified
Ensure internal controls are adequate and address any gaps when identified
Liaison with internal stakeholders, external auditors and tax agents on reporting requirements
Overseeing of financial processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and Group’s policies and procedures
Strong emphasis on cash flow management/forecasting
Regional Financial Planning & Analysis:
Assist with the regional month-end closing ensuring the necessary accruals are clearly identified and reported.
Assist with the consolidation of the business performance analysis within the region.
Financial planning activities: assist in budget & Mid-Term Plan preparation, presentation and analysis.
Business Improvements:
Review and enhance financial processes: constantly seeking value-adding and simplification of the processes currently in place. Not afraid to initiate & lead process improvement projects to improve work efficiency
Identify the gaps versus the Group standards and propose the adequate corrective actions
Involve in systems and procedures development as well as systems implementations and compliance.
To perform duties which are not mentioned above from time to time but are necessary for the growth and fulfilment of the Company’s requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Business Degree in Accountancy/Finance
Minimum 7-year experience in Multi-National Corporations in APAC region (advantageous with data centre construction / energy efficiency / renewable industries experience)
Previous experience in Audit / big 4 would be beneficial
Strong accounting principles, analytical & financial skills as well as sound business processes knowledge
Positive & enthusiastic approach
Proactive, agile, committed and able to under little or no supervision as well as a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills, able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Compliance oriented
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly explain financial concepts in lay terms for non-financial collaborators
Computing Skills:
Advanced MS Suites: Words; PowerPoint; Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus); MS Access (a plus)
SAGE accounting system (would be beneficial)
Familiar with SAP
