ENGIE Wins Two Energy Risk Asia Awards 2026

ENGIE has been recognised at the Energy Risk Asia Awards 2026, receiving two awards that highlight our expertise across LNG and derivatives in Asia Pacific. ENGIE was named Derivatives House of the Year and Natural Gas/LNG House of the Year for helping clients manage energy market risks through tailored solutions, global market access and physical gas expertise.

ENGIE has received two distinctions at the 2026 Energy Risk Asia Awards: Derivatives House of the Year and Natural Gas/LNG House of the Year.

The annual awards recognise excellence in energy risk management across Asia-Pacific. ENGIE’s double win reflects the complementary strengths of its activities in the region, combining deep knowledge of physical energy markets with global sourcing, liquidity, risk management and structuring capabilities.

Derivatives House of the Year: tailored risk management across energy markets

Volatility and geopolitical uncertainty have created significant challenges for energy companies across Asia-Pacific, putting risk management and access to effective hedging solutions at the centre of their energy strategies.

ENGIE’s recognition as Derivatives House of the Year reflects its ability to develop tailored structures for clients across energy markets, supported by physical-market expertise, cross-commodity capabilities and global reach.

Over the past 18 months, this has included solutions addressing cross-commodity and cross-currency exposures, hedging alongside asset acquisitions, supporting clients entering derivatives markets for the first time, and managing exposures linked to complex benchmarks.

These transactions share a common approach: understanding each client’s underlying exposure and designing a solution around its specific operational, market and risk-management constraints.

“During periods of heightened volatility over the last year, we actively engaged with our clients to anticipate their needs and structure solutions aligned with their risk appetite”, says Alexis He, Senior Vice President for Energy Derivatives, Asia-Pacific.

Natural Gas/LNG House of the Year: connecting global supply with Asian demand

ENGIE was also named Natural Gas/LNG House of the Year, recognising its role in supporting Asia-Pacific customers amid volatility, physical market disruptions and strong competition for LNG supply.

With a strong physical presence globally and across the region, ENGIE has continued to develop long-term LNG solutions for Asian buyers, combining security of supply with pricing, structuring and risk-management capabilities.

The award highlights ENGIE’s long-term contracting activity in Thailand and South Korea, alongside its continued participation in the financial Japan Korea Marker (JKM) benchmark at a time when many firms withdrew from the market.

Recent transactions demonstrate how ENGIE can draw on its global LNG portfolio to develop long-term supply solutions tailored to buyers’ needs. This includes long-term DES agreements in Thailand and South Korea, connecting global sourcing capabilities with local security-of-supply, pricing and operational requirements.

“Over the past 12-18 months, our focus has been on leveraging our LNG portfolio to execute long term transactions in Asia, allowing us to implement security of supply focused partnerships with like-minded buyers”, says Ralf Dickgreber, Head of Global LNG & Biomass.

Connecting physical energy and risk management

Together, the two Energy Risk Asia Awards highlight a core strength of ENGIE’s offering in Asia-Pacific: bringing physical energy supply and financial risk management together.

Rather than addressing supply, pricing and risk separately, ENGIE draws on its presence across physical gas, LNG and power markets, its derivatives expertise and its global network to structure solutions around each client’s underlying needs.

This combination helps clients manage market exposure, secure energy supply and navigate volatile market conditions, while connecting expertise on the ground in Asia-Pacific with ENGIE’s global capabilities.

The two awards recognise the teams in the region, and ENGIE’s global platforms whose physical, commercial and risk-management expertise make these solutions possible.
